Dr. K. Beena
Associate professor of Social Science
Dr.K. Beena,is handling Social Science [optional subject] and Paper- II , ‘Educational Psychology’ [General Paper]. She was born at Changaanacheryy, in Kottyam District in 1966, as a daughter of Sri. G. Kesava Pillai and Smt. Ambujakshiamma. She completed her school education at Govt. Girls High School, Thiruvalla. She spent a long seven years at Mar Thoma College, Thiruvalla for completing her Higher Education from Pre- Degree to Post Graduation. She completed her B.Ed. and M.Ed from Kerala University and M G University respectively. She got Ph D from M.G. University, Kottyam. She has passed National Eligibility Test (NET) in Education. She got P G D H E from IGNOU. She has attended a number of seminars, state as well as national, and has presented papers in a few of them. She has organized a National seminar sponsored by UGC on ‘E-Learning Strategy in Teacher Education ‘ as convener of the programme. Also she successfully completed a minor project sponsored by UGC on ‘Inclusive Education’. She is thePIC[ Programme in charge] of IGNOU BEd. Programme provided by KSTC from 2008 onwards. She is officiating as a member of Faculty of Education, Kannur University & CTE

2. UGC sponsored National seminar on Beyond the Margins: Relections on Identity and New social movements’ organised by the Department of History, Sir Syed College, Taliparamba on 15th and 16th March-2011 and presented a paper entitiled ‘Women Education in Malabar.
3. Regional Workshop on ‘Examination Reforms” organised by I Q A C, at P. K. M. College of Education, Madampam on 18th August-2011. Participated in the short-term course in capacity Building for Teacher Educators from 12-07-2011 to 15-07-2011 organised by Academic Staff College, kannur University under the financial support of UGC.
4. U.G.C State Level workshop on ‘Infusing New Psychological Paradigins in Teacher Education Curriculum’ organised by KSTC, Taliparamba on 16th January-2010 and presented a paper titiled ‘Critical Inquiry Pedagogy in Social Science Class rooms.
5. Workshop on ‘Restructuring Teacher Education curriculum in Kerala’ organized by Education sub-committee, AKPCTA on 23rd January-2010 at K.M.M.Women’s Colege, Kannur. U.G.C sponsored National conference on ‘Promotion of Education and Health. Perspectives and concerns in purview of social justice, organised by P K M College of Education, on 2nd and 3rd March-2010.
7. Organised a UGC sponsored National Seminar on “E-Learning strategies in Teacher Education ‘ as convenor of the programme at KSTC Taliparamba on 20th and 21st August-2009 and presented a paper titiled ‘possibilities to Incorporate E-learning strategies in Teacher Education’.
8. UGC National Seminar on Hypokinetic diseases, Health and Modern society on 28th and 29th August-2008 organised by KSTC, Taliparamba. Participated in the one day Regional Seminar held at Govt. Brennen College of Teacher Education, Thalassery on 13th November-2008 organised by Council for Teacher Education.
